Back in South Texas, Awkward Moment

Well, promised myself I'd leave the computer behind when I got home tonight but here I am.

Hope the crew up in DC are enjoying themselves. Have to tell a funny thing that happened at the office. It all started when I got my LG Muziq cellphone. (I love it). I downloaded some nice ringtones on it and am assigning them to different family members. Well, on Monday I had a few nurses, all female, in my office and I was doing an inservice training on the new paperless system we are implementing. My owners bought me a projector to hook to my computer and there I was on the internet doing a live demonstration with the lights off in the room. Guess who calls right in the middle of all this??? JACKIE!!!!!!! Guess what I have her ringer set at??? That's right family and friends!!!! Turn Me On by Nora Jones in all of it's ##%&*()^&$#@ -----glory!!!!! You know, "Like a flower, waiting for the Rain". Guess what sound level I had the ringer set at??? Right again!!! Five bars, baby. With vibrate to. Don't want to miss a call from my little loved one if she needs me. Well, the ringer goes off, very loud, and everything got quiet and the nurses started looking around to see where this music was coming from. It sounded so------------INAPPROPRIATE--------------- in that setting. Me, I started panicking. It was dark in the room and I couldn't find that stupid phone. It's a long ringtone and lasted 20-25 seconds. The music finally stopped and everyone was looking at me. I didn't quite know how to react to this situation so I just said that was my wife and she must need me for something, not realizing the true depth of what I had just said. Well, the hoots and hollers and "Aahhh, Mister Kerry" started up. It was an incredibly awkward moment but it makes me laugh every time I think of it. It happened again today but not on as big a scale. I was able to secure the phone in about 10 seconds. WHEWWW! I guess I should turn the phone off when I have meetings in my office. I certainly don't need to be building up some kind of "reputation". I miss all you guys up in DC and want to see you all home safe and soon.

I love you Jackie and hope you have enjoyed you trip. See ya soon----------ks
